There's only one sleep to go until The Button Lock Bag sewing pattern is released here on our website! That means we've one last chance to share with you some fabulous inspiration for your sews! Today's inspiration comes from some of the many, many, many marvellous makes sewn by our brilliant bagineers at the Virtual Bag Retreat towards the end of last year.
Elizabeth of Quilt Angel Creations used a gorgeous purple Harris Tweed fabric for the main panels of this beautiful Button Lock Bag, lined with a beautiful batik print designed by Teresa Ascone. And, Elizabeth also machine embroidered the faux leather flap of this stunning sew!
We love the mustard print fabric of this wonderfully warm Button Lock Bag, made by Tess. Tess matched the mustard to waxed brown canvas, and used a contrast thread for top stitching! We think it's delightful!
Aren't Vanessa's fabric choices pretty? And the outer fabrics are shower proof too, making this sweet Button Lock bag perfect for any weather! Vanessa also added a credit card and lip balm pocket to this brilliant Button Lock Bag, as a handy extra storage solution. (The card / lip balm / slip pocket technique can be found in The Complete Bag Making Masterclass by Mrs H.)
Do we have any other Star Wars fans reading along? You'll love Allison's Button Lock Bag! And, there's a fab little peek of the flap fabric hidden away in Allison's zip pocket too! May the Force be with you!
Can you believe this is the first time that Karen has used Harris Tweed for bag making?! We think it's stunning! Karen's plaid Harris Tweed came from Emmaline Bags' custom line.
Jane of Bags by Jane also used Harris Tweed for this beautiful Button Lock Bag! Jane matched the Harris Tweed up with a rich navy blue faux leather, and a bubbly lining!
We love this beautifully bright bird print that Karen paired with a darker wool for this gorgeous Button Lock Bag! We think it's just charming!
And, last but not least, is this fabulous Button Lock Bag made by our friend Pam from Sew Hot!
The Button Lock Bag sewing pattern will be released tomorrow morning - 22nd January 2021! You will be able to buy our newest bag sewing pattern as either a downloadable PDF pattern, or as a bundle of paper sewing pattern and PDF together.
